US Grade 4 - 7
Students will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss how a single engine, single seat propeller driven aircraft could carry a higher bombload than a B-17 Flying Fortress. Students will discuss why troops on the ground were happy to see this slow, seemingly outdated attack aircraft appear over their heads in Vietnam. Students will learn of the Medal of Honor heroes who flew it and of all the American lives it saved. For those who know little about this important American ground attack fighter this will be a great learning opportunity. For those who are already fans, this will be an opportunity to geek out.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I spent eight years in the United States Air Force as a radar technician. Working with the highly mobile radar of a forward air control post I traveled the world in C-130s, was buzzed by A-10s, and became proficient with various weaponry. Since the third grade I have been a student of the history of military aircraft, especially World War II fighters.
