In this Ongoing course, learners will explore and practice early math concepts such as counting, building numbers on a ten frame, simple addition and subtraction, greater than/less than, and much more using fun, weekly themes.

I would love for you to join me each week as we explore early math concepts using fun themes. Each class will be interactive and engaging. Activities and concepts will be very similar to what you see in a Pre-K or Kindergarten classroom. I will tailor my interaction with your child to fit individual needs. We will do fun, hands-on activities to practice a variety of different math skills such as number recognition, counting, writing numbers, simple addition/subtraction, building numbers on a ten frame, shapes, patterns and more throughout the course. Each class will be packed full of various math concepts. I love to include finger plays, songs, and movement in each lesson. This is an ongoing class; therefore, you can join or leave at any time that works for you and your schedule. You will only be charged for one week at a time. Subscriptions renew on Sundays. You can cancel at any time as you see fit; therefore, you are not committed to taking this course. Each week will include interactive handouts that will help your learner by being hands-on throughout the lesson. I will post all needed materials and supplies each week in the classroom the day before class. All materials needed will be items commonly found in homes. If you ever do not have something, please let me know and we can work something else out. Again, if you do not have access to a printer, please let me know. I am VERY flexible. Your learner can always just bring a piece of paper or dry erase board to class. Hi! My name is Emily. I have been married for 7 years. We have two precious boys. I have had a passion for teaching since I was a little girl. I was the kid that lined up her dolls and gave them homework.
I received my B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from Gordon College in 2012. I received my M.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College in 2015. I have 7 years of formal classroom experience. I spent 1 year teaching in Pre-K and I taught Kindergarten for 6 years. I am currently an online ESL teacher to students across the world.
My number one goal is for my students to leave my classroom feeling more enriched than when they entered. I believe learning should be relevant and fun. I am a huge believer in play-based learning. I believe hands-on learning sparks creativity and enriches the imagination. I have a passion for teaching beginner math and literacy skills. I enjoy teaching around themes that are interesting and make students excited about learning.
I offer a wide variety of classes. My classes will teach and enhance beginner math and literacy skills, while also sparking the imagination through intentional play. I love to incorporate crafts, songs, movement, and even edible "crafts" to make learning more concrete. My classroom will always be inviting, interactive, and engaging.
