Having taught Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade math across 3 states and over the duration of 10 years, Mrs. Bombard is well-versed in not only various state standards but also in addressing math with those who wish to abstain from the Common Core methodology. Through this knowledge, we are able to address both ideologies within our learning. In addition to her public school experience, Mrs. Bombard has homeschooled both of her children using the Saxon resources for a number of years.
Assignments will be given on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to provide opportunities for independent practice. These assignments will include a mixture of questions pertaining to that lesson as well as spiral practice from previous lessons.
All printable materials will be provided by Mrs. Bombard. Learners should have a notebook or composition book to take notes during each lesson.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learner progress is assessed informally through in-class activities. Families may request the following: (1) formal grades for each week's content (2) a weekly progress report for their learner
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
This class is based on the Saxon approach to mathematical learning as well as the content for Saxon 6/5. Saxon is a strong math curriculum that provides a fantastic foundation for math success now and as your child grows.
