Description

Class Experience

Students will garner specific knowledge about many types of beetles from around the world, as well as more indirectly discovering that animal adaptations are suited for certain life activities and environments.
I have a long love of all things animals, from the largest to the creepy crawlies. I have taught about animal adaptations, insect attributes, and spider qualities to many students, both in person and online for over seven years. My love for learning more about the insects we share this world with has never been satiated and is only further enhanced by sharing it with students who are naturally passionate bug lovers.
No homework.
Play dough or other moldable material.
An informal assessment is made possible by the student's beetle creation and the inclusion of adaptations to help it survive well.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Death - There will be discussions about battles or fights that may lead to the understanding that in an insect fight, one beetle may not survive.
