Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their understanding of sentence, paragraph, and essay structure so they can communicate effectively and confidently through writing.
I am certified to teach ELA and ESL. I have over 6 years of experience working with students and aspiring writers.
Students will be expected to complete work throughout the week. Mr. Conway is okay with students working together or in groups outside of class as long as their work is their own.
Students will need paper, writing utensils, and a word processor program (Google Docs, Microsoft Word)
Grades will be given in percentage points, usually in increments of 5. For example: 100, 95, 90, 85, 80, and so on. Incomplete work will be given an automatic 50% with an option to redo the assignment.

Mr. Conway believes in meeting students where they are, so effort, participation, and any learning difficulties are always considered when grading. Mr. Conway does not use rubrics, but does provide detailed feedback.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
I will be pulling resources from various district approved resources. I will also be providing my own lessons.
