Welcome to Unit One of Middle School Science! In this 4-week unit we will explore the fascinating field of energy. We will discover forms of energy, electricity, magnetism, waves, light, sound and more! Your children will be engaged through hands-on learning, interactive PowerPoints, and discussion. Here is a breakdown of each class: Week One: Lesson One: -Introduction to Energy -Forms of Energy: Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Lesson Two: -Thermal Energy -Conduction, Convection,...
-Spiral Notebook -Glue -Scissors -Colored Pencils/Crayons -Pen or Pencil -Stapler *Printable materials will be available one week before the start of class. Students are required to pre-cut these materials. Preparation will take around 20 minutes each week*
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be handling sharp objects in the classroom, including scissors and a stapler.
