Middle School Science: Designing an Experiment Using Scientific Inquiry (SP)

In this self-paced course, students will be introduced to the scientific process of inquiry and learn how to design and conduct a controlled experiment. Analyzing techniques such as data tables and graphing are explained and practiced.

Beginner Level
In this self-paced course, student will use a variety of learning tools to gain the basic understanding of the scientific inquiry process.  Information is presented through interactive Pear Deck presentations including short video clips.  Students will gain further understanding by watching Brainpop & Amoeba Sisters videos and responding to questions in an app called Edpuzzle.  Students will complete various challenges with an interactive app call Formative.  There are 20 lessons total in this unit.  Each lesson will take approximately 30-60 minutes depending on the learner.
Learning Goals
By the end of this course, students will be able to explains the goals of science, design and conduct and controlled experiment, and analyze and interpret the findings.
