Middle School Physical Education 101
In this 5 week course, students will be exposed to the most important aspects of the middle school physical education curriculum.

This class will meet virtually once a week. The objective each class will be to identify the important aspects of each topic and to review any questions from the previous class. While the virtual classes will be face to face, there will be weekly challenges that require students to get up and move while implementing the new information. Students will also participate in daily warm ups and cool downs that will require athletic attire and a safe space to move. Week 1 - Intro to Physical Education (Assessing prior knowledge and dynamic vs static) Week 2 - Health Related Fitness Components (Cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition) Week 3 - Skill Related Fitness Components (Agility, balance, coordination, power, reaction time, speed) Week 4 - F.I.T.T & Heart Rate (Frequency, intensity, time, type) (Resting, target, maximum) Week 5 - Nutrition (Understanding food labels, caloric intake vs expenditure)

Parental Guidance
Please ensure students have an open workout space, proper footwear, and a water bottle if needed. Potential injuries could occur if the following criteria is not met and students are not properly supervised.
