US Grade 5 - 7
All of our classes use the Phono-Graphix method which is similar to Orton-Gillingham. Phono-Graphix is tailored especially for students who benefit from structured, systematic, multi-sensory learning approaches. The method we used was designed with students with Dyslexia in mind. 📅 These classes meet every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, making Monday the ideal start day for new enrollees. Classroom Activities: 📜 Each week, students receive a list of 30 spelling words, with an additional 5 bonus words to match diverse skill levels. ⭐️ During our live sessions, we focus on identifying spelling patterns and understanding spelling rules. This approach helps students clearly grasp the foundational aspects of spelling. 📝 Students engage practically by writing the words and using colors and shapes to explore spelling through a multisensory approach. This aids in visual memory. Learning Techniques: We emphasize the skill of dividing words into "chunks", like syllables, allowing students to dissect words into their basic sound components. 🔍 By using colors and shapes as study tools, students can better identify and remember complex spelling patterns. Weekly Routine: 📝 Homework is assigned after our first two classes of the week, providing ample practice. 📋 On Fridays, students participate in a low-pressure spelling test after reviewing what they’ve learned. Additional Classes: We offer more of these spelling classes for grades 1 through 5, ensuring we meet various educational levels and needs. Our team of educators is passionate about teaching and committed to helping your child build strong spelling skills in a supportive and engaging environment. ❤️ Not sure which grade level is best for your student?
