Middle School Math Prep Summer Camp
Get ready for middle school math! In this on-going summer class, taught by a former elementary and current middle school teacher, students will practice 5th Grade math concepts that are needed for middle school math success.

As a former elementary and current middle school teacher, I have found that there are several important skills that students should be proficient in in order to be successful in middle school math. ** Please note: This class is designed for students who have already learned skills listed below in 4th and 5th grade, and are wanting to solidify these skills to get ready for 6th Grade.** Each class will begin with a mini lesson of the skill through Google Slides, and then we will practice the skill together with an "I Do, We Do, You Do" succession. At the end of each class we will practice the skill by playing a Blooket or Gimkit game. AGENDA OF CLASSES: Week 1: Order of Operations (Day 1), Read, Write, and Compare Decimal Numbers (Day 2) Week 2: Relation of Fractions and Decimals (Day 1), Adding and Subtracting Decimals (Day 2) Week 3: Multiplying Decimals (Day 1), Dividing Decimals (Day 2) Week 4: Adding and Subtracting Fractions/Mixed Numbers (Day 1), Multiplying Fractions/Mixed Numbers (Day 2) Week 5: Dividing Fractions/Mixed Numbers (Day 1) , Mixed Review (Day 2) **NOTE: Tuesday sections will not have class on Tuesday, July 4th. A class will be added for Tuesday, August 1st.
