Mastery Evaluation
Parents can usually expect messages after sessions and before the next one to stay updated on their learner's progress and success, as well as coordinate lessons where needed.Class Experience
US Grade 6 - 8
In this class, we can offer support for full curriculum in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math, as well as pre-algebra. For traditional students, we offer homework help support and can fill in any gaps in learning that may cause trouble for students. Our materials follow common core standards, but we can also follow family requests for other curriculums. If gaps in learning are suspected, we can assist in identifying these areas. Similar to many of our classes, our classes are learner led. We move at the pace at the student, as everyone learns at different rates. We use engaging materials to support students, including math games wherever possible. Other sources may include Khan Academy, presentations, worksheets, and more. We encourage students to take notes on vocabulary, processes, and more, setting a solid foundation for higher grade levels. We strive to ensure that students fully grasp concepts before moving to the next topic. However, parents may request topics at their own discretion. Topics may include: - long division - ratios - percents - linear functions - surface area - volume - unit conversions - order of operations - operations with fractions - integers - coordinate planes - and much more!

Other Details
Learning Needs
We are able to support learners with disabilities and offer specific classes for them. Our coaches have experience with students who have unique learning needs and/or have disabilities themselves.
Parental Guidance
All of our materials are shared via Zoom Screen Share, meaning logins are not needed on the student's end. Students are more than welcome to share their screen as well if they need to share any school assignments- please ensure that no private information such as full names or school names are shared.
Supply List
Please ensure that learners bring something to write with and on to class; having a notebook and/or binder for math is highly recommended. We will provide all learning materials. Calculators may be brought, but the primary method of solving will be written work.
