Middle School Math Foundations meets twice a week for four weeks and focuses on mastering mathematical skills necessary for upper-level math. This class is a great math review option.

What's included

Homework
1 hour per week. Students will have short homework assignments related to our daily lessons. These assignments are expected to be completed before our next class meeting. Homework will be uploaded to the classroom. Learners will need to download the assignment from there. If a learner isn't able to print the assignment, they should write down the question in their math notebook for reference.

Class Experience

Beginner - Intermediate Level
Middle School Math Foundations will focus on:

- working with whole numbers including multiplication, division, exponents, and the order of operations
- working with decimals including multiplication and division
-understanding factors, multiples, and prime numbers and how to use them
-working with fractions including addition, subtraction, and multiplication

Powerpoints are used to pace the class, and example problems that we will do in class together. 

My students describe me as a calm teacher, and my math classes are stress-free.
 
Students must be 11 or older when registered. 

Before enrolling in this class, students should be able to:
- add and subtract large numbers
- know the place value of whole numbers
- have a good grasp of basic multiplication and division

This class takes the students' needs into account, therefore, the class may move quicker or slower than anticipated. 

Students will have short homework assignments related to our daily lessons. These assignments are expected to be completed before our next class meeting.  

If your student has math apprehension, this might be the class for them. I love teaching math, and I also can relate to needing a bit more time to grasp concepts.  If your student enjoys math, this might be the class for them if they need a review of the skills being taught.
