I am a Florida certified teacher who taught middle school for 10 years and I have been teaching mathematics to homeschoolers from grades k-12, both in person and online for over 2 years. I always wanted to be a teacher, and I am living the dream! In addition, since 2008, I have been writing and publishing mathematics and English/language arts teaching resources. Therefore, I will be providing all teaching materials for my class(es) for free. I do my best to eliminate the fear some students have of mathematics by making my lessons easy to understand with plenty of examples taught step-by-step. In fact, the reason I began writing lessons/workbooks as a teacher was because I was frustrated with the textbooks in my classroom. They were often outdated, and math textbooks often seem to leave out steps necessary for students to fully understand more advanced topics, assuming, sometimes incorrectly, that students remember all steps from a previous lesson. In addition, I encourage students to ask questions.
Plenty of practice problems will be provided each week along with a quiz. Students will need paper and a pencil while watching the videos. A printer would be helpful for printing the practice pages and the quizzes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
