Class Experience
This Language Arts class will cover a broad range of material in literature, grammar, and writing. Language Arts topics covered in this course include: Theme, contextually deciphering word meaning, tone, reading vs. listening to a selection, reading and writing poetry, age-appropriate grammatical conventions, and writing fictional narratives as well as creative non-fiction. Students will have reading, writing, and grammar work each week. Students will read half to a third of a book each week. Students should expect to devote 1-2 hours or more to writing each week, depending on their skill level.
