US Grade 5 - 8
Each class is independent and it is divided into three parts: presentation, practice, and production. In the presentation stage, the teacher will present the material, and then the students will practice by doing with guidance from the teacher. In the last stage, the students will apply what they have learned independently and get feedback from the teacher and other students. The following are the weekly topics: Week 1 - Writing Informative Texts Week 2 - Writing Arguments Week 3 - Writing Narrative Texts Week 4 - Conducting research projects Week 5 - Reading Strategies Week 6 - Speaking Skills (Oral presentations - Interpreting Information) Week 7 - Listening Comprehension Week 8 - Vocabulary Acquisition and Use
Learning Goals
Students will improve their skills in English Language Arts (writing, reading, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation). The lesson plans for this class are aligned with the Common Core Standards for grades 6-8. The lessons do NOT depend on each other and students can join in anytime.
