This course will let you travel back in time to our beginnings as we learn about connections between the world's cultures and institutions. You will learn to analyze primary and secondary historical sources to make connections within our World's history. This class will use readings, projects, and live class discussions to immerse you in history. No prior knowledge is needed before beginning this course. This course will use multiple viewpoints as history is explored. Course Outline: Week One: Early Humans Week Two: Ancient Sumer Week Three: Four Empire of Mesopotamia Week Four: Ancient Egypt - Pharaohs Week Five: Ancient Egypt - Daily Life Week Six: Kingdom of Kush Week Seven: Origins of Judaism Week Eight: Early Settlement of India Week Nine: Origins Hinduism and Buddhism Week Ten: First Unification of India and Gupta Empire Week Eleven: Shang Dynasty and Chinese Philosophies Week Twelve: First Emperor of China and Han Dynasty Week Thirteen: Ancient Greece: Democracy, City-States, Greco-Persian Wars Week Fourteen: Ancient Greece: Golden Age, Alexander the Great Week Fifteen: Ancient Rome: Rise of Rome and Daily Life Week Sixteen: Ancient Rome: Origins of Christianity and Legacy of Rome
