Welcome to this class! Here’s what you can expect from this class: --- **What will be taught?** In this class, students will master key grammar concepts that are essential for effective communication and writing. The course will focus on foundational topics like sentence structure, punctuation, verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and more complex aspects like conjunctions, prepositions, and clauses. --- **What topics will you cover?** We will cover a variety of grammar topics, such as: - Identifying parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs) - Sentence structure (simple, compound, and complex sentences) - Punctuation (commas, periods, colons, and semicolons) - Subject-verb agreement - Verb tenses (past, present, and future tenses, including perfect tenses) - Pronouns and antecedents - Prepositions and prepositional phrases - Common grammatical errors and how to avoid them --- **How is your class structured?** The class will be structured in a way that builds progressively on each topic. Each session will start with a brief review of previous lessons, followed by the introduction of new material. We'll begin with mini-lessons and instructional videos to introduce concepts, then transition into practice exercises, interactive activities, and group discussions. The class will conclude with a recap and Q&A session to clarify any lingering questions. The course will consist of weekly topics that include: - Week 1: 9/30 Introduction to Parts of Speech - Week 2: 10/7 Building Effective Sentences - Week 3: 10/14 Verb Tenses and Usage - Week 4: 10/21 Advanced Punctuation and Sentence Mechanics - Week 5: 10/ 28Correcting Common Grammar Mistakes --- **How will you teach?** I will use a combination of lectures, interactive presentations (slides), video clips, and hands-on activities. Students will have access to worksheets and grammar exercises, which they will complete during and outside of class. Group work will be integrated into the lessons to encourage peer interaction, and I'll incorporate games, quizzes, and real-life writing examples to make grammar more relatable and engaging. --- **What's your teaching style?** My teaching style is highly interactive and student-centered. I believe in making learning enjoyable by using real-world examples, creative activities, and humor. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and participating actively. I also provide timely feedback on assignments to support each student’s individual progress. --- **How much will learners get to interact with you?** Students will interact with me regularly during the lessons through discussions, Q&A, and games. Each session will include at least 15 minutes for direct interaction, where students can ask questions or get personalized feedback. I’ll also be available via email for additional support between classes. Interactive tools, like polls and quizzes, will be used during class to keep engagement high, and students will have time to collaborate with one another through group activities.
