Each week in thisclass, we will discuss concepts in different topics of Science. You are welcome to join any week based on your need or you can enroll for the entire course. This Course will help students who need better understanding of concepts which are hard to comprehend. I will be using Google Slides, Videos, Lectures, White Board and Projects to teach Lessons. In this Class, students will study all the important Science Concepts required for the Middle school students to prepare for High school science courses. This is a course that important State Standards from Middle Level Science Courses. Students may also join in between to attend certain topics which they consider, they need tutoring for. They can also request for topics they need in Science. New topics such as Scientific method, Science fair project and other areas of interest will be listed as per request. All Sessions will be interactive and students will also get to participate in Quizzes and other Online Assessments. I am a Certified Science Teacher for Texas, Virginia and South Carolina, still working in a Public School in Virginia. This class will help students strengthen their conceptual knowledge in Science and prepare them better for high school science. Week1 - Matter Atoms and Molecules: In this lesson students will learn about structure of atom and molecules Chemical formulas and Balancing equations: In this lesson students will learn how to write formulas and also balance chemical equations. Periodic Table: Students will interpret the arrangement of the periodic table including groups and periods. Week 2- Chemical Formulas Acids and Bases: Students will compare properties of acids and bases and understand the pH scale. Chemical Bonding: Students will learn about the different types of bonds formed by elements with examples Motion and Force: Students will be able to demonstrate the relationship between force, motion and energy and learn Newton's laws. Week -3-Photosynthesis Photosynthesis: Students will be able to understand how plants convert radiant energy to chemical energy. Ecosystems: Students will know the relationship between organisms and the environment Microorganisms: Students will learn about the different categories of microorganisms such as bacteria, virus, fungi and protozoa. Week - 4 -Ecosystems Food Chains and Food Webs: Students should be able to explain how organisms are interdependent on each other based on their food habits. Genetics (Inheritance and Reproduction): Students should be able to define heredity as a passage of genetic instructions from one generation to next generation. Natural Selection: Students will be able to understand that population and species demonstrate variation and inherit unique traits through gradual processes over generations. I will teach each topic during one Meeting and provide notes and videos for the topic so that students can practice at home. Since it is a ongoing class they may also request for topics to learn.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basic concepts in science and master them.
