Quarter 1 Earth Science class In this multi day class we will cover Earth Science topics through the use of slide show presentations, hands on demonstrations and projects for students to participate, activities such as Ka hoot will also be utilized. Students will keep weekly notes in a journal along with interactive activities and write-ups. Each class will end with students sharing what they learned during our time together. Students will have an understanding of the earths' structure along with the theory of Pangea and continental drift.
I am currently teaching these same concepts in a brick and mortar building with eighth grade. I have been teaching for 21 with a specialization in math and science.
Spiral notebook for notetaking Any handouts will be provided for students through the classroom Materials for activities: playdough or clay, slinky (teacher will demonstrate with one this is for students to do the demo and see it close up), Graham cracker, fruit roll up, and pudding snack cup. All activities will be demonstrated by teacher if students do not have materials they can observe.
Informal assessment each week through spiral review activities and Kahoot.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
