Description

Class Experience

Students will gain a deep understanding of the artmaking process, and become extremely proficient in the Elements of Art and the Principals of Composition.
Mixed Media Sketchbook is a must for this class. This will be where we make our sketches, take notes, brainstorm, and create our final projects. I recommend a good set of acrylic paint but you my use whatever medium you like best, each project will be an exploration of what the medium you want to use. We are going to be focused on process and creativity. This is not a step-by-step guided drawing. Please make sure you do have basic art supplies such as -Pencil and eraser -Dry colors such as: crayons, markers, colored pencils, and/or oil pastels -Paints: acrylic, tempera and/or watercolor with brushes and water cup -a ruler or other straight edge (a clear plastic ruler is best) Students will also need to be able to take digital pictures so that the teacher can view the projects and provide feedback and so that students can complete their virtual Art Show. If students do not want feedback or to participate in the Art Show digital photos will not be necessary.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Assessment is optional. If you would like to be graded I will use a rubric that will be available before the project begins.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Projects that are not finished during the given class time can be finished outside of class time. Students are expected to gather their supplies before class begins.
There will be Google Slide lessons at the beginning of each project. Students will have access to these Presentations and the resources within during the course. Students will need a Google account to access these resources.
