I have taught ELA, Composition and Rhetoric for almost ten years and have a Masters in Creative Writing from The University of Tennessee. This class is designed to give middle grade learners an advanced composition class.

Advanced Level
This class is an ongoing ELA class for Middle Grade learners. Ages 7-12. In this class, we will have a large focus on MLA format, which is required at the college level, but also learn to write in different creative formats. Since the class is ongoing, a learner can jump in whenever they want, and stay as long as they would like. Because with revision, we can make our writing excellent. In creative writing, there may be themes from a student's work that may conflict with what one considers age appropriate. I will do my best to monitor this, but my pedagogy does not stifle creativity for comfort.
