WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT? In this class, students will learn the essential features of Microsoft Word, including how to format text, customize page layouts, insert tables and images, create hyperlinks, and proofread their work. They'll develop practical skills to create professional documents for school projects and beyond. HOW WILL YOU TEACH? I’ll teach using live demonstrations on Microsoft Word, guiding students step-by-step through each topic. After each demonstration, students will participate in hands-on activities and complete fun challenges like speed formatting and creating a flyer. There will be time for questions and personalized feedback. WHAT'S YOUR TEACHING STYLE? My teaching style is interactive and engaging. I believe in learning by doing, so students will be actively involved in every session. I break down complex tasks into easy-to-follow steps, and I use practical, real-world examples to help students see how these skills can be applied. HOW MUCH WILL LEARNERS GET TO INTERACT WITH YOU? Getting Started with Word & Basic Text Formatting
Speed Formatting Challenge: Students will receive a pre-written paragraph and compete to format the text according to instructor guidelines (change font, bold key terms, highlight titles, etc.).

Page Layout and Document Formatting Essentials
Document Design Sprint: Students will modify a 2-page report by adjusting margins, inserting headers/footers, and creating lists within the time limit.

Enhancing Documents with Tables, Images, and Hyperlinks
Create a Mini-Project: Students will design a one-page event flyer, incorporating a table for scheduling, an image, and a hyperlink to a relevant website (e.g., a school event page).

Proofreading, Saving, and Sharing Documents
Proofread and Share: Students will proofread a classmate’s document (provided by the teacher), make comments using “Track Changes,” and save it as a PDF to email to the instructor.
