For this one-time class, students will print out a colouring-in page consisting of various types of viruses (including ebolaviruse, bacteriophages, adenovirus, and more!). The main class activity will revolve around colouring and labeling the diagrams. I use a shared screen version of the colouring sheet to illustrate what is being discussed. Students will learn some common types of viruses and their distinguishing features.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students should be comfortable with the discussion of the topic of viruses, and some illnesses caused by viruses will be mentioned (though not in great detail).
