Description
Class Experience
This playdough class in Spanish is geared toward the youngest kids advanced in Spanish,* who are likely new to online learning and looking to get their feet wet with a short, very small-group, immersion-style class JUST for them! This is a learner-centered class, so as the teacher I will seek to focus on their interests with the playdough. We will likely talk about colors along with the kinds of creations the children want to make. I will maintain my side of the conversation entirely or...
This class is taught in Spanish.
I received a minor in the Spanish language with my bachelor degree (2011). Later, I went on to complete the seven-week level 5 Spanish course at Roca Blanca Spanish School in Catalotepec, Mexico (2018). I have taught group Spanish classes to a variety of ages over a span of seven years, five years of which were online. Additionally, I have been raising my children primarily in Spanish since 2016. I have previously taught playdough playtime in Spanish as a much loved ongoing class.
- Modeling dough, such as Play-Doh. Feel free to bring either homemade or store-bought dough. While one jar is fine, a variety of colors is fantastic if available. - Modeling dough tools are also a great addition. It is very helpful if the learner's camera is angled so that I can see what they are creating on the table and see them at the same time. That way we can talk about their creations more easily as they make them, and it is easier for them to share about them. (Modeling dough may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease. If this allergen is a concern for your child, please use an alternative dough.)
20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
