Hairstyling is such a fun way to gain confidence and have fun. The techniques that will be taught in this class are meant to encourage a stress-free way to try new styles. These styles include, french braid, dutch braid, as well as casual updos (both half-updos, and full updos). Knowledge of a basic braid is helpful but not required. Styles will be modeled and I will also guide students through each step. This class will be taught as an open forum so that students can ask questions as the lesson goes. I have spent many years working in the hair industry and updos and styling have always been a specialty of mine. It is my goal that students will gain confidence in their own ability to style hair in fun fashionable and stress free ways. Students may choose to style hair on a model or themselves for the lesson.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to independently create specialty braids and formal styles.

Supply List
Students can choose to have a live model or styling mannequin with shoulder length hair or longer (pre-curled if possible). Students may also choose to do the styles on themselves if they prefer. Since only one student will be able to perform the styles, there will be no charge for models if one is present. Additionally, students will need rubber bands, bobby pins, a comb, and brush.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
