Class Experience
Please note: This is a Flexible Schedule Class. There will be no in-person meetings, but there is a lot of materials to keep your learner occupied during the duration of the class. In this FLEX class, learners will follow a Preschool/Kindergarten morning meeting routine by learning about the calendar, letters, patterns, and so much more. Materials, lessons, and videos will be provided to help create an interactive and informative class as learners do their lessons at home! The main focus of this class is the Calendar routine. I have created weekly Boom Cards for learners to access for learning the months of the year, days of the week, letters, and patterns. Boom cards are an interactive presentation, where your child will be able to touch/click on the slides while learning. You will be provided with link and a password for your child. Here is the breakdown of the slides you will get in Boom Cards each week: - Month Identification (click on the month we are in) - December Calendar Slide where students type how many days we have been in the December - Today is slide (click on the correct day) - Yesterday was... slide (click on the correct day) - Tomorrow will be... slide (click on the correct day) - Letter of the week (there is a daily interactive activity connected to the week's letter) - Pattern identification (click on the next object in the pattern) **You have these same slides each week (Monday-Friday) Next, you will also have access to Nearpod lessons, which is a program that allows me to upload videos, songs, and some activities too (weekly link will be provided to you). Each week, learners will be provided with 3 songs: Months of the Year, Days of the Week, and What's the Weather. There were also be 3 holiday stories (read by me) on these slides. I will also add any other content I feel necessary to help your child develop their skills through the Nearpod platform. Outside of Boom Cards and Nearpod, your learner will be provided with printable materials throughout the course. These materials include, but are not limited to: - December Calendar - Weather Graph - Weekly Craft - Letter of the Week practice sheets - Pattern practice - Occasional activities to go along with read alouds Throughout each week your child takes this class, you will also have contact with me and other learners. I will be communicating to the learners through our classroom wall and messages! I would love to have your learner also comminicate to their classmates via the wall too! Your child is encouraged to upload photos and comments relating to the activities of the week. For example, if your child completes the craft of the week, it would be wonderufl to have a photo posted in the classroom! As much as I will be communicating with your learner, I would love for them to make connections with one another as well! Let's make this class memorable for all learners involved! As you can see, students will learn many different skills in this class, but we only spend a short amount on each one per day. Students will be able to learn these skills by repetition and exposure. This class will be provided as an on-going class again in the New Year. Please note: This FLEX class will be offered each week of December. I will not be repeating the weeks, as the Calendar continues to progress. A new week of materials will begin each Monday. You will be given access to each week's lesson for the entire Month of December, but that will only include the week's material that you are signed up for. You will only get the new materials if you sign up for the next week's class!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
My name is Miss Jamie, and I LOVE to teach! As you look through my classes, you will notice an array of topics that I offer. I taught in an elementary school for 6 years, where I taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 3rd grade. I will be offering classes directed to early learners--letter and sound identification, phonics, number sense, and some fun art classes too! For older learners, I will host book clubs and more advanced art classes! I believe that learning is meant to be fun, engaging, and relevant to the students and the parents. I hope to spread my love creativity and learning to my students!
Outside of being a teacher, I am a wife and mother. I have a 2 year old daughter and another little girl on the way! We are so excited to grow our family. Some of my hobbies are reading, running, and woodworking! I hope to share some of my hobbies in the future too!
