In this one time class, students will learn how to create a smooth base coat of polish and use an easy dotting technique to create a Christmas tree for a very merry holiday look! Perfect for the beginning nail artist!
Class experience
Class will begin with students learning a technique to create a smooth base coat of polish. Then using household items (a toothpick and the back of a watercolor paintbrush) students will be taught a step-by-step method to create a beginner friendly Christmas tree nail art design using a dotting method. A technique for a smooth base coat of polish and basic nail design techniques to create holiday themed nail art.

1 file available upon enrollmentFor this class students will need: * 1 color of polish for the all over base color (the background color on all 10 nails.) * 2-3 Colors of Polish for the tree (A green color and 1 or 2 other colors for the "ornaments." I used green, white and red in the example.) * A polish color for the star and trunk of the tree * A toothpick * The back of a watercolor paintbrush (optional) * A small square of tin foil. * OPTIONAL: To achieve the look in the example, a gold glitter nail polish was used on the nails that don't have the tree design. * Anything wanted to protect the work surface.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please be aware of any allergies to any of the nail polish ingredients before using the polish. Also, be aware of the possibly messy nature of nail polish and plan accordingly by protecting the work surface.
An optional practice worksheet will be attached as a PDF that can be printed for students to practice on.
