Class Experience
During this engaging class, we will learn about couplet poems and write some about mermaids that celebrate Christmas. A couplet poem usually has 2 lines that rhyme. For example, "sea" and "tree" could be used. Additionally, each line has about the same number of syllables. Students will be given examples and support throughout the writing process. Notably, we will discuss mermaids, Christmas, magic, creatures, rhyming, nouns, and adjectives. I'll encourage everyone to share a poem or at least...
This class is taught in English.
There is no homework.
1 file available upon enrollmentLearners will need paper, pencils, and an eraser. If they want, learners can bring some things related to the topic (like a mermaid toy or Christmas bow).
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This is a fun poetry class with a secular and creative focus. Various magical things will be discussed (e.g., mermaids and elves baking cookies for Santa). Learners do not have to write about anything they do not like or believe in.
