Class Experience
Students will learn basic jazz dance terminology and movement while dancing to fun and familiar songs. We will practice balance, flexibility, and coordination skills. Most of all we will have FUN!
Our Mermaid Craft will need the following supplies: a paper lunch sack markers printed mermaid tail template - OR a blank piece of paper for your learner to draw a mermaid tail scissors glue stick If your learner may struggle with using these supplies on their own, please be sure that a support system is nearby to assist.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Mermaid attire is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear jazz shoes, ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. We will begin by reading our story, then moving to sitting on the floor to stretch, and then to standing for the remainder of the class. Students may be muted during class. Students may need to know how to "mute" or "unmute" themselves.
