Is that a beautiful fish I see? No, it's a mermaid! Let's color and chat about mermaids. Bring your mermaid dolls and be ready to share all about them as we color. The teacher will provide the printable coloring sheets for you to print. There are several to choose from! Color one or color all. You may also choose to free hand draw or color a picture you already have at home. Feel free to be creative with your art skills! Coloring is a relaxing way to improve fine motor skills, improve focus, and help with hand eye coordination! Chatting with friends can increase your communication and listening skills. We'll use our imaginations to answer some fun mermaid questions from the teacher. Let's have fun coloring and chatting. Some of the coloring sheets are outlined in blue or green. The other coloring sheets are outlined in black. You will need a printer and the ability to open a PDF document in order to print the coloring sheets. If you cannot print them, you are welcome to draw a mermaid instead.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My name is Melissa Mills! I am a certified public school teacher, and I've been teaching in public schools since 2003. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with certification in Early Childhood. I also have a Master of Education degree and a Master of Library and Information Science degree. I was a classroom teacher for grades 4K, 5K, 1st, and 3rd. I am currently a media specialist (school librarian) for an elementary school that services students in grades preK to 5th. In addition to teaching in a public school, I have been teaching online part-time since 2018.
I believe learning should be fun and students should be active participants in their learning. I love to incorporate literature, singing, dancing, crafts, and discussion into my lessons. I love to teach lessons centered around literature or elementary math concepts. My goal for each class is for students to have fun while learning new concepts.
I am married and have 3 children. We live in the country on 4.31 acres. We used to live in the city, so we are getting used to all of the new sounds in nature such as woodpeckers and flocks of large birds. We've seen a lot of wildlife on our property such as wild turkey, field mice, snakes, and deer! I don't have any farm animals. My family and I enjoy spending time walking outside, riding bikes, swimming, reading, vacationing, and playing games together.
