Merlin Mission #3 Summer of the Sea Serpent: A Magic Treehouse Camp
In this 5-day language arts camp, we will embark on a quest for the Sword of the Light to free it from the Sea Serpent through fun crafts, active games, reader's theater, ocean animal research, a question of the day, and our imagination!

Description
Class Experience
Students will respond to the text and deepen comprehension by connecting important themes in the book to their own lives. This will take place through text-dependent questions Students will extend tier 2 vocabulary from the text through engaging games Students will improve fluency through reader's theater Students will connect fictional characters to non-fiction ocean animals through in-class research Students will create hands-on projects and participate in kinesthetic activities to anchor their understanding of the story's events.
Approximately 30 minutes (3 chapters) of reading each night Pre-Camp assignment: Chapters 1-2 Day 1 homework: Chapters 3-4 Day 2 homework: Chapters 5-6 Day 3 homework: Chapters 7-9 Day 4 homework: Chapters 10-12
