Class Experience

Join us for an exciting journey into the world of Mercy Watson, the adventurous pig who loves buttered toast!  In this fun-filled class, we will discuss the hilarious escapades of Mercy and her friends, Mr. and Mrs. Watson, as well as her Deckawoo Drive neighbors.  Get ready for laughter, friendship, and lots of fun as we explore the beloved series by Kate DiCamillo.

This ongoing course will provide an opportunity for students to discuss the Mercy Watson series and the Tales from Deckawoo Drive Series.  Each session will include discussion questions, and may include any of the following:  trivia, crafts, snack ideas, extension activities, and various other interactive activities.  

Students should have their own copy of the current book (purchased or borrowed), and have completed the reading before class.  Otherwise they will have a difficult time with the discussion section of the class.

The schedule is as follows:

Week of Feb. 26-Mar. 3: Mercy Watson to the Rescue
Week of Mar. 4-10: Mercy Watson Goes for a Ride
Week of Mar. 11-17: Mercy Watson Fights Crime
Week of Mar. 18-25: Mercy Watson Princess in Disguise
Week of Mar. 26-31: Mercy Watson Thinks Like a Pig
Week of Apr. 1-7: Mercy Watson Something Wonky This Way Comes
Week of Apr. 8-14: Leroy Ninker Saddles Up
Week of Apr. 15-21: Francine Poulet Meets the Ghost Raccoon
Week of Apr. 22-28: Where Are You Going Baby Lincoln?
Week of Apr. 29-May 5: Eugenia Lincoln and the Unexpected Package
Week of May 6-12: Stella Endicott and the Anything-is-Possible Poem
Week of May 13-19: Franklin Endicott and the Third Key
Week of May 20-26: Mercy Watson is Missing
Week of May 27-Jun. 3: 3 Adventures on Deckawoo Drive
*After this, we will rotate back to the first book, so if you joined us later on, you can loop back and catch the one you missed!

Supply List
Students will be required to purchase or borrow the book of the week.  They will also need to bring basic school supplies (pencil, paper, crayons, scissors, glue) to each meeting.  If there are any printouts, I will provide them at least 3 days in advance.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
