In this fun festive one time class we will join together and learn how to draw and colour super cute cats and kittens in the Kawaii and Anime style. We will draw 3 different cats all with cute Christmas accessories like in a Santa hat, reindeer ears and sleeping on some cookies or in a stocking! Kawaii means 'cute' in Japanese and Kawaii style drawings have expressive and adorable faces to give them cute personalities. This is great for encouraging creativity in your learner as they can easily make up stories to go along with their dynamic drawings. I will go through step by step instructions using slides and live drawing demonstrating how to make our beautiful Kawaii artworks. It will be a super fun class where students are free to express themselves through art and creativity and chat all things Christmas. So come and create your own Cat Kawaii Christmas and make some new friends this holiday season! I will also give some great tips and tricks to what makes something look 'Kawaii' and I love to encourage students to share their work at the end of the class. My teaching style is very enthusiastic and I like to encourage my students by praising what they are doing well and sensitively pointing out where they could improve. The best way to learn is through doing and so my lesson will be very interactive and engaging. The students will need some plain paper, a pencil, an eraser, sharpener and coloured pens or pencils, including the colour black. They can also use paints if they wish. No required experience or knowledge is needed for this class. Just a joy and curious attitude about art and how to draw!

Hello! My name is Harriet Horner and I am from London in the UK. I teach creative classes, including interesting and dynamic art classes, along with art history classes. They including a lot of making and creating from the students side and most importantly they are very fun!
I have a bachelors degree in Fine Art from University of the Arts London and have worked with the acclaimed artist Anish Kapoor for over 3 years. I also have my own art studio and have exhibited my art work around London and in the Venice Biennale! As well as my colourful art background I have also obtained a TEFL and have been teaching English online to foreign students from the ages of 5 - 12. I love it! But I cant wait to combine my love of art with my love of teaching and believe that my enthusiasm and knowledge in the subject will bring a great learning experience to my students.
I believe the best way to learn is through doing so I always encourage my students to get involved, get stuck in and trust in the process! I love to interact with my students and get to know them in the lessons.
