In this 8 week class, students will memorize two poems as well as learn tips and tricks to help memorize any passage.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 7
In this class your student will memorize "My Shadow" by Robert Louis Stevenson and "Mr Nobody" by anonymous. Classes will be lively and engaging with tips and tricks for memorizing the poem, but also these tips and tricks can easily be incorporated into other passages students want to memorize. Reviewing is an important key to memorizing so students will also be given tips and tricks on how to seamlessly incorporate reviewing into their daily schedule. Students will be given a chance to...
Students will memorize a "My Shadow" by Robert L Stevenson and "Mr Nobody" by anonymous. Students will be encouraged to recite the poem aloud in class. Students will be encouraged to recite the poem to someone outside of class. Students will learn tips and tricks to aid in memorizing. Students will learn tips and tricks to aid in reviewing memorized passages. Students will enjoy learning the poem. Students will be introduced to the author of the poem. Students will be able to explain in one or two sentences the meaning of the poem.
Homework Offered
Students will need to practice the memorized portions outside class to aid their retention from week to week. I will teach them how to do that. It should take less than 10 minutes a day to review.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will have a chance to recite the poems during class. They will be encouraged to recite the poems to family and/or friends.Grades Offered
