Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
In this class, we will build each line of the multiplication table with some visuals, and then memorize and practice the facts by singing them on melodies from pop culture. While we sing, we will look at slides of arrays that use the characters from the songs we sing. I will demonstrate how to use the songs to answer multiplication problems and we will practice with the chat box to apply this skill. We will then take have two minutes of quiet focus time while we work on the "One Minute Challenge" test. Students who spend time during the week practicing the "minute challenge" will win a GIF for the whole class to see the next week.

I'll also include a flashcard PDF and show pictures of a "wall quizzer." This offers students another way to practice.

*PREREQUISITE: It is helpful if students have an understanding of how multiplication works and can multiply by at least 0, 1, 2, and 5 before joining this class. This is not an introduction to multiplication, rather, we focus on learning the facts for times 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12.
*ONGOING CLASS: This is a subscription based class. If you want to take only one week, you must unsubscribe after that class meets. Otherwise, you will be charged the class fee weekly. Students are unenrolled by the system after three no-shows. Your student is welcome to join the class on any week to get practice on a specific number, or to go through the series.
