In this class, we will learn why we celebrate Memorial Day. Students will learn that Memorial Day is a time to honor those who have given up their lives in the service of their country. Students will be guided in writing a letter to a soldier. Students can mail the letters individually after class. We won't be addressing our envelopes during class, but letters can be mailed to: East Bay Blue Star Moms P.O. Box 2537 San Ramon, CA 94583 Students will also make a Memorial Day craft in...
3 files available upon enrollmentStudents will need scissors, markers/crayons, pen/pencil, paper, yarn or string; red, white, and blue beads, and a hole punch. Students will need to print out the craft template. I will also post other printable options to send to the soldiers.
This organization is made up of mothers of service men and women. They collect and send letters in care packages to soldiers. More can be learned about this organization by going to their website: https://www.bluestarmoms.org/about We will need a hole punch and scissors for this class, so please make sure your child is able to manage these items safely or that they have assistance if needed.
