Class Experience
The class will begin with introductions and a song. We will discuss the meaning of Veterans Day and the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I will read the book America’s White Table to the students, using questioning techniques to facilitate comprehension and discussion as students interact with each other and with me. I have taught American history to elementary students for many years. Each year, I set up a small white table as described in the book America’s White Table as a way to honor veterans and to share information with students in an engaging way.

1 file available upon enrollment• Printed copy of the attached file (available upon enrollment). If you are unable to print the file, a plain piece of white paper will work, though it may be a bit tricky! • One red marker or red crayon • One blue marker or blue crayon • One black marker
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will assess students through gentle questioning and observation in order to adapt instruction.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
No parental guidance needed.
