US Grade 1 - 4
In each lesson, we will learn facts about each United States President. There will be worksheets provided to where each learner will fill in personal details about each President to include what state they were from, their years in office, political affiliation, any pets, and significant accomplishments. Due to the age of learners, this class will focus on facts mentioned above and not discuss any sensitive items that may be deemed not age- appropriate. Learners will have the opportunity to share what they may already know about the President we are working on and share it with the classroom. They will have the opportunity to print a copy of a blank template that will be uploaded to the classroom. We will complete each worksheet as we work on it, as well as fill in the information mentioned above. Each week will also include a link to a video to extend the learning and will have a related classroom discussion question. Each week learners will share which President they were most interested in and why using the classroom chat feature guided by Mrs. V. Each learner will have the opportunity to find other information about any of the Presidents for that week and share with the class. Students are encouraged to check in with the teacher weekly in the Outschool classroom/private learner's messaging, which will allow for more engagement between the teacher and learner. Students will post their drawings in the classroom and each classmate will interact with each other and comment on the drawing that was uploaded. At the end of each week, learners will take a kahoot quiz about facts that we learned about the Presidents of that week. It will be interactive and fun way to share our knowledge with each other. Also, each learner will upload a video each week about their favorite fact of that week and anything they may like to present. Classmates will watch the videos and respond accordingly. Students will need the printouts uploaded by the teacher in the classroom. Some weeks may require glue or glue stick, crayons or colored pencils. There will be ample time provided in the classroom chat to inform parents and learners what will be required for the following week. ***This is a FLEX course and students can request a time extension if needed. Courses are not graded unless requested. If grades are needed, please let me know upon enrollment or prior to the course beginning to arrange submission of work for grading/feedback.** Please reach out to me if there is a scheduling conflict or payment assistance is needed.
