In this one-time class, students will learn about a variety of shapes through real life examples, a shape find game, drawing shapes and shape BINGO. 1. Greeting: We will start out by greeting each other by singing a hello song. 2. Sharing Time: Everyone will have the opportunity to share an object from home that represents a shape. (Ex: A book is a rectangle/square; An orange is a circle/sphere. 4. Introduction to Shapes: We will learn each shape's name as well as their qualities like how many sides and corners/angles each shape has. 5. Shape Find Game - I will share a google slide presentation with students and we will use our "binoculars" to find all the squares, triangles, octagons, stars, etc. 6. Shape BINGO - We will play a shape bingo game. Please print and bring to class along with something to mark your bingo board. 7. Drawing Shapes - We will draw shapes using crayons/markers and a piece of paper. We will talk about how to close the shapes and how to make shorter and longer lines. 8. Goodbye - We will sing a goodbye song. My classroom is a safe place full of engaging and fun learning! I am energetic, patient and kind. I try to encourage lots of student output in different ways to include all types of learners (song, movement, sharing, reading). There is no required experience or knowledge learners need. Come ready to have fun and learn!

Welcome! I'm Jenna Mayer. I have been an elementary classroom teacher for 5 years. I've taught Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 5th grades. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from UW Madison and my Master’s degree from UW Stout in Education and Reading. I am a certified Title 1 Reading Teacher. I am also a stay-at-home mom and teacher to my own two boys (ages 4 & 2).
I love teaching! I enjoy making learning engaging and fun for all students. I have experience teaching a wide range of ages, abilities and interests. My classroom is a safe place full of engaging and fun learning which often includes singing, movement, and hands on activities.
