Description
Class Experience
Students will examine the motives of explorers as well as the modes of transportation, routes, and major historical events during their journeys.

A great resource to supplement this course is the Scholastic Atlas of Exploration, an intermediate/middle school-level paperback resource that has 2-4 page segments on each explorer and journey. The author is Dinah Starkey. This resource is not required, however!

30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This is an age-appropriate class that focuses on history and geography. However, there are times when this course will briefly discuss wars, conquest, and religious practices of various civilizations.
