Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners shall endeavour:
To become conversant in the six main musical eras, with a focus on the Renaissance period
To gain an overview of the general development of vocal and instrumental music through the Renaissance era
To learn about the main composers and important concepts of this era
To recognize Renaissance repertoire through listening
Homework will be required and should take 60-90 minutes per week. Homework assignments will vary in style. Examples include written reports, music listening assignments, arts and crafts projects, game and puzzle creations, web-based creative projects, video assignments with confirmation reports. There will be one oral final presentation.
A complete notes packet will be provided 2-3 weeks before the class begins.
Students will need a manilla file folder for the lapbook project.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Weekly homework, course projects and a final exam will be marked with a percentage grade or complete/incomplete indicators. A full report card will be provided at the close of the course.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
