1 hour per week. Since this is a Flexible schedule class, learners are expected to share their artwork each week in the Classroom for encouragements and feedback from the teacher. Sharing our work helps each learner see the individuality and creativity that each artist brings to the same lesson.Class Experience
Artists in this class will learn about the "Father of Impressionism", Claude Monet. Each week, a new Monet painting will be highlighted. The artist's life and style will be briefly discussed. Using that week's painting as inspiration, each artist will create their own masterpiece. Young artists will learn about different paint mediums and techniques to develop appreciation for art and art history. Each lesson is made up of pre-recorded videos, breaking the lesson down step-by-step. Learners may upload photos of their art projects, an any questions to the Classroom. The teacher will provide personalized feedback within 24 hours of any posts. The elements of art and principles of design will be taught, and each art project with give artists the opportunity to practice these theories. Each lesson with teach new techniques and give learners the guidance and confidence to use them.

Sailboat at Le Petit Gennevilliers
-Study the serene masterpiece "Sailboat at Le Petit Gennevilliers" and its tranquil depiction of a sailboat on calm waters
-Dive into the world of seascapes and learn about techniques for capturing water, sky, and sailboats in art
-Art Project: Create your own seascape with a sailboat using watercolor and tempera paint, exploring color blending and texture to convey a sense of peacefulness and movement Lesson 2:
Water Lilies
-Explore Claude Monet's famous series of water lily paintings and their mesmerizing depiction of nature's tranquility
=Experiment with oil pastels, watercolors, table salt, rubbing alcohol, and q-tips to create your own ethereal water lily scene, incorporating techniques to evoke the interplay of light and color on water's surface

A Tulip Field in Holland
-Admire the beauty of "Tulip Field in Holland" and its celebration of vibrant colors and natural beauty

The Japanese Bridge
-Discover Claude Monet's enchanting "Japanese Bridge" series and its fusion of Japanese aesthetics with Impressionist techniques
-Experiment with oil pastels and watercolor paints to capture the serene ambiance and intricate details of the Japanese bridge and its surrounding garden

I will send a detailed list of materials before class each week, but generally for the month artists should have: watercolor paper (90lb minimum) 12x18 sulfate (construction, drawing paper) watercolors tempera paint (at least primary colors: red, yellow, blue, and white and black) assorted paint brushes (1 round, 1 flat at least) q-tips oil pastels (preferred) or crayon chalk pastels black waterproof marker (Sharpee) table salt rubbing alcohol

I homeschool my 3 youngest children for several years, and now all 5 are home with me. I love teaching them art and history. I love using my passion for history to teach how the events of our past have shaped our future.
