In this ongoing cooking class students will make a different breakfast with me every week! We will make breakfast foods of all kinds, investigate and use in-season fruits and vegetables when available, and learn and improve kitchen skills and food safety. *Families purchase ingredients on the supply list every week, so students can cook with me in the class.* In this class students will learn by doing! Most weeks our lesson will take us from preparation through the completion of the meal. We will review kitchen and food safety for the meeting, discuss ingredients, equipment and alternatives. I will demonstrate each step of the cooking process, asking questions and having discussions with students at each step. Students will be provided with the recipe through the Outschool discussion board for the class, and I will have it posted in the chat throughout the class in the Zoom classroom. The goal of this course is to provide the learner with the opportunity to learn new skills, and recipes, while building their confidence in the kitchen through both the preparation of delicious food, and building a supportive community of students who love breakfast. ***All dishes can be made without meat and modified to omit allergens, or fit dietary needs, just message me directly!*** WINTER 2023 MENU: Jan 6 - Huevos Rancheros Jan 13 - German Apple Pancake Jan 20 - Johnny Cakes (Cornmeal Pancakes) Jan 27 - Pumpkin or Carrot Muffins (vote) Feb 3 - Cajun Scramble Feb 10 - Cinnamon Roll Pancakes Feb 17 - Cancelled Feb 24 - Monte Cristo Sandwiches Session Ends

Parental Guidance
This is a cooking class that involves the use of knives, and a stovetop or oven. Parents must be present in case of accidents or emergencies, and available if their student needs assistance. Students may occasionally need to finish baking a dish after the scheduled time ends.
If your student is planning to double the recipe, they may need to cut a few things before class to keep up. Students can also start class with ingredients precut, or already measured until the feel comfortable cutting and measuring with me. Just reach out if class feels quick and we can work a plan out!
It is the your responsibility to review the ingredients each week and to let me know if there are any allergies so I can help you find an alternative. Please give me 24 hours to reply so you have time to pick up substitutes if needed.
Supply List
The ingredient and supply list for the first session will be available immediately upon enrollment. The ingredient and supply list for all other sessions will be posted on the classroom message board after the previous session.
