Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will be guided through a 20min meditation to energize and prepare them mentally for the day to come. Meditation teaches children the skills they need to regulate their emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, how to breathe properly, and many more benefits. The types of meditations we will do include visualization, music, and breath meditations. 

The class is structured as follows: once the learners are logged on we will address any questions or concerns they may have, once everyone is settled and ready will be sit in a comfortable seat and begin our meditation. Inviting students to close their eyes, we will focus on the breath to clear our minds. Once the guided meditation is finished we will have more time from questions and comments. Therefore, we will have a total of 10min for discussions and 20min of guided meditation.

Students will improve their stress levels before starting school and learn to regulate their emotions through meditation.

Supply List
Students will need a comfortable sitting area on the floor; i.e mat, pillow or blanket.
A water bottle.
A blanket if student tends to get cold easily (optional)
Headphones/earphones for computer (optional)
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! 
My name is Megan, I am a 200-HR certified yoga instructor and certified wellness champion. I teach yoga for ages 10 years and up! I got my certification with Breathe for Change where the focus is on teaching yoga as well as meditation and mindfulness to children. The type of yoga I teach is a vinyasa; focusing on the movements and connecting the breath with the movement. I also guide meditations and teach about mindfulness to calm the body and mind. 
I love teaching yoga and bringing the practice into other's lives; it is my passion and purpose in life. My goal is to bring a fun aspect into yoga, I am a goofy/fun teachers who loves interacting with others.
