Let's jump back in time to an era after the collapse of the Roman Empire but before the Renaissance began in Europe...an era referred to as the Middle Ages. Students will be immersed in the history, people, architecture, events, and literature of this time in European history. Each week a lesson, quiz, and assignment will be posted in the Outschool classroom on Monday at 8 AM EST. Learners have one week to complete assignments. Quiz -Assignment: Research and Create a Visual Presentation about a Person From the Middle Ages We will learn about these topics of interest: The Plague, Hundred Years War, Crusades, Peasants' Revolt, War of the Roses, Alfred the Great, Charlemagne, Joan of Arc, Muhammad, Peter the Hermit, nobility, weaponry, Gothic architecture, and much more!

Parental Guidance
The class will include subjects that some students may be sensitive to such as deaths during the Plague and during wars. Also, religions will be discussed only in a historical, secular context. Discussions will be kept at an age-appropriate level.
The class will use external websites the enhance the learner's experience. Nearpod, Kahoot, and Gimkit do not require an account. Learners will use a code to enter and will enter their first name to activate the lesson.
