During this one-time measurement class, we will discuss various aspects of measurement. We will touch on millimeters, centimeters, inches, feet, and yards. There will be an emphasis on feet and inches for this particular lesson. Students will be introduced to measuring tools, and when to use them. We will also compare the length of objects and animals. Lastly, we will work on estimating and conversion between feet and inches. This will be done through discussion, power point, and provided worksheets.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to express the length of an object as a whole number of length units. They will also be able to describe how two measurements relate in he size of the unit chosen. Students will be able to identify various tools of measurement.Other Details
