Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 7
Mean, median, mode, and range are some of the measures of central tendency used in statistics to summarize or describe data. These four measurements are used throughout a student's math career and in everyday life (for example, in calculating GPA).

In this class, taught via video slide lesson, students will learn how to find four measures of central tendency: mean, median, mode, and range. They will also practice identifying data from graphs to find these measurements. Finally, they will learn how to find quartiles and measure interquartile range and use these measurements to create a box and whisker plot. In doing so, students will be able to confidently apply these skills in several formats and to see real-life application.
