Students will gain an alternative perspective on the movie “Mean Girls”, and learn some conflict resolution skills and knowledge in the process!
I am the owner of Maryland Conflict Resolution. We train students, educators, employers, and employees in effective conflict resolution and communication skills. Furthermore, I have a Master of Education in School Counseling and an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I create a nurturing and safe environment for students to discuss their ideas and opinions freely, and I have an understanding of the developmental stages children go through, and how to meet them at their level.
Homework Offered
Students will not be given traditional homework, but will be given the option to view movie clips before class. There will be a confidential “thought provoking” question given to students at the end of each weekly class. In addition, one discussion topic will be posted weekly based on the contents of the class, in order for students to interact during the week, while the course is not in session.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

While I aim to keep the course lighthearted and fun, whenever interpersonal relationships are being discussed, it may bring out strong emotions in students. I will always notify a parent if a student is becoming emotional over a topic, and we can work together to find a solution.
