In this one-time course, we will be exploring maps and creating maps of various places in our lives as well as a map of the world and/or country.
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 2
We will start by looking at a map of the world, reviewing/learning the 7 continents and 5 oceans. We will learn about these in the form of a song and a video that is engaging. After learning about the seven continents and oceans we will label a map of our world and move into directions and the compass rose. After we complete the map of the world, students will create a map of their own. It could be anything familiar to them. Examples include their bedroom, their house, and their school. I...
