In this class students will be exposed to world of chemistry. Questions such as what is chemistry, why should we study chemistry and the benefit of chemistry in our lives will set the stage for deeper understanding of some introductory topics. We will cover structure of the atom from a chemists perspective. Three major sub atomic particles, electrons, protons and neutrons will be defined. Students will be exposed to the world of atoms, and sub atomic particles. They will learn about elements and the wealth of information found on the periodic table.
Review the slides covered in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment based on the quiz given towards the end of class.
